14-18 October 2020

The seventy-second year of the Frankfurt Book Fair, which is the most important European book event of the autumn, will take place from 14th to 18th October 2020. With regard to this year's situation around the COVID-19 pandemic, the fair has been digitized. All national presentations, including co-exhibitors, will not take place physically, but will be transferred to the online space.

The Frankfurt Book Fair will complement the BOOKFEST City festival, which will fill the streets of Frankfurt with chamber literary and cultural events for five days, and many events will also take place online. Among the 80 events, Alena Mornštajnová will present herself to the German audience for the first time on October 16 with her novel Hana translated into German (published by Wieser, 2020, translated by Raija Hauck), who will join Martin Krafl, program coordinator Moravian Library in Brno virtually. On the German side, moderator Mirko Schwanitz will discuss with them. You can watch Friday's literary evening live on our Facebook profile Leipzig2020Tschechien.

The Czech national presentation is provided by the Moravian Regional Library in Brno on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
