Práh, s.r.o.

Práh publishing was founded in 1991 by the well-known Czech writer Martin Vopěnka. Since its founding it has published almost 700 titles under the genres (nonfiction, fiction, Young adult and literature for children). The main focus of the publishing house is on translated literature. In translated literature Práh chooses popular titles not only from world languages (English, French, German), but also from less common languages (among others Hebrew and Swedish). In the Czech Republic is Práh publishing well known for its bestsellers Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, Steve Jobs or Jean-Paul Belmondo´s autobiography Mille vies valent mieux qu´une. From children´s literature, the most important authors are Uri Orlev, Lucie Lomová or Renáta Fučíková.
